Why Malta Like a Local exists

Most Malta guides are written from a desk far from the Mediterranean, recycled from each other, and aimed at coaches of forty. This site is the opposite: a small collection of routes and stories written by people who live here, checked against the street, the bus timetable and the sea state.

Nothing here is sponsored and nobody pays to be included. When we say skip the front-row café and walk two streets back, it's because that's what we do ourselves. The island is generous. It just doesn't always face the harbour.

Use the tours as written or break them apart. Malta rewards the second option: the best afternoon you'll have here will probably start with a wrong turn.
